Snow Storm of December 2009!
We had these drift across our front door and driveway. The back is worse but they didn't turn out because it was still dark out. Other sad point, it is still snowing and still blowing! Both Jeff and I made it to work today. Although I didn't even try to get my car out of the driveway.

My Best Friends

When I was younger I didn't think my mom was the coolest person in the world (which I don't know anyone who thought their parents were). Now that I am older and little grown up, I think that my mother is the most amazing person in the world. My Grandma Delores is probably the second most amazing person in my life. I only hope that I grow up to be just like the both of them, they are both hard working, loving, caring, and funny people!

Arbor Finished = No plants

We have finally completed the arbor in our back yard. We are going to wait until Spring to do the plants and final landscaping! Yeah then our back yard will not just weeds and fire pit! I will post pics once it is finished this spring!

Tiffany Only Two Jobs Soon!

I have offically put in my notice at Support Services. As of November 1, 2009 I will not be a regular scheduled employee. Of course I told them that I would stay on to help fill in when needed. I am going to miss the consumers because several of them are very close to me! Although I am very excited not to have to go to work at 11:30PM at night!! Yah!

Hunting Time

Hunting season offically starts this morning. It is first season bow hunting. So Tiffany will be home enjoying a quite house and Jeff will be out hunting every weekend. Actually right now the Golf Course has slowed down and he doesn't start at Titan Machinery until November 1st. So this means he can hunt all week long! Jeff (in the past, we will see how marriage changes things) used to do a few household chores before he went hunting. I think it is because he feels quilty but whatever works so I don't have to do all of the chores!

Here is the beginning of our newest home improvement project! Jeff is building this with the help of my dad. It may be done by next year!

Random Thoughts of the Day: I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft. There is a great need for sarcasm font. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text. Was learning cursive really necessary? Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say". I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. My brother's Municipal League baseball team is named the Stepdads. Seeing as none of the guys on the team are actual stepdads, I inquired ab out the name. He explained, "Cuz we beat you, and you hate us." Classy, bro. Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart". How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said? I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers! While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. Bad decisions make good stories Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem.... You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren’t doing anything productive for the rest of the day. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever. I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren’t watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?' I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste. When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioni ng something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking. I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes. Why is a school zone 20 mph? Tha t seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles... As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. I think that if, years down the road when I’m trying to have a kid, I find out that I’m sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college. Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cellphone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I’d bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time.... My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that? I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

Update On Life

We have been so busy lately it has been hard to find time to post on our blog. Jeff is preparing the golf course for the winter. Although I think he is beginning to believe that summer will never end! This year with the cooler weather all summer the grass never stopped growing so he is still mowing everyday! I will be glad also when he doesn't have to be at the golf course everyday. He will begin his winter job at Titan Machinery in Greenfield on November 1st. He has begun a new project at our house... building an arbor over our new patio! I will post pics when it is getting closer to done because right now you can't tell what the heck it is.

I have been very busy with three jobs. At the Foundation Office it is flu season so advertising flu clinics is almost a full time job. We are complete with major events for the year although several direct mailing drives are in the future. I am still working two overnight shifts a week at Support Services. I don't know if I will be able to ever stop working there because I start to miss the guys if I don't see them for a few days! My new job at the Fontanelle Observer is great and busy! It seems that the business is increasing there which is a very good thing! I hope that it continues to go well.

Jockey Party

I am having a Jockey Person to Person party at my house this Friday (the 4th) from 5pm to 7pm. Come and go!

Tiffany Not a Hunter

This Sunday we had no plans for the afternoon. After throwing around several ideas between Jeff and I he decided that he wanted to go for a walk. This walk was not your Sunday stroll. He has two game cams which he hangs up in the middle of no where that takes photos. This is so he knows if there are any good bucks in the area. We drove out past my grandparents and parked outside of their river bottom land. We began walking, Jeff mentioned that I would complain by the time we were done. I asked where we walking to after about 10 mins of walking. He pointed way in the distance, "that pine tree over there." I began to complain of why we would walk that far, if only at that time I knew where we would be going after we got to the pine tree. Well we got to the pine tree, but had to go a little farther because that wasn't a good enough spot! After Jeff got his game cam hung up, he decided to walk around another corn/bean field. All in all we walk for one hour and half. This wouldn't be bad for me except most of it was walking through weeds that were just about as tall as me! I am not one for bugs crawling on me and not being able to see where I am walking. I don't think Jeff will be asking me to go on one of walks anytime soon!

Huff Family August 2009

This is part of my mom's family. My uncle Chris and his family was not able to attend and three of my cousins were unable to attend.

In August we had a Huff Family Reunion, which we try to have every year. This is those who were able to attend. I believe that grandma added it up and we are only missing about 15 people. This is my Grandma Havens's family, her brother and sisters familys. We had a fun filled day on the farm.

Walk For Pink

The Adair County Health Foundation is having our first annual Walk For Pink. This is a walk/run around the 2-mile trail at the Greenfield Lake. We are raising funds to purchase a new digital mammogram machine. If you are interested in participating details can be found at www.adaircountyhealthsystem.org under the upcoming events tab!

Summer Hamburgers...UMMM

For supper tonight we had grilled hamburgers. I even grilled them while Jeff was not home so it is a plus they were cooked all the way through and I didn't catch anything on fire :-) I topped mine off with fresh relish that my mom had made out of cukes from her garden. I think that it is the best relish ever! I also had a slice of a garden tomatoe on mine. Ummm couldn't ask for a better summer meal!

Jeff The Golfer

Below is Jeff hitting it out of the sand... there are a lot more sand traps on this course compared to Greenfield! Below is a picture of Jeff waiting in the pickup... notice in the background.. it is pouring!! And we were to be in the golf cart all day! I am surprised a got a picture of him smiling because he wasn't in the best of mood while it kept raining!

As many know Jeff won the Greenfield Golf and Country Club tournament, winning the rights to the Atlantic Golf And Country Club Tournament of Champions. He took part in the tournament Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday he was very disappointed in himself as he did not score well. So on Saturday I got off work at 6:30AM instead of 7:30AM to leave for Atlantic at 8AM. We were 5 miles from Atlantic and it started to rain. We sat in the pickup until 11AM when he could get out the golf cart. We were not able to start golfing until noon! He did a little better, I would say because I was there but the only thing I know about golf is that I don't enjoy it that much. The only thing that I would say when he got down on himself was that "You are a lot better than I am." His response each time was "Thats not saying much." All in all it was a wonderful day. I had fun riding around on the golf cart. I think Jeff enjoyed the day too.

Wind = Tree Down

This past Sunday morning I woke after a hard nights sleep (I was very tired worked three jobs and went with Jeff to a golf tournament) to look out our bedroom window to our only shade tree being broke off. Only a section of the tree fell down. Jeff is going to try to save the standing part of the tree since it is our only shade at this point in our back yard. It must have been a weak tree because Jeff's mom hand recently planted two trees in the back yard and they are still standing straight.

New Part-time Job

Recently I decided that working overnight shifts and weekends was not what I would want to do it we ever have kids. Instead of waiting until then, because I have to plan ahead. I decided to pursue a part-time with the Fontanelle Observer. This job will consist of selling ads, covering events, and general paper duties. The joy of this job is I do it when I want to and all of the computer stuff I do from home. I am not scheduled any certain time or amount of hours. I am keeping both part-time jobs until I make sure this job works out. I will keep everyone posted on how it going.

Weekend In Outdoors

What a wonderful August weekend. Friday started off by getting prepared for our first Wine Tasting to benefit the Adair County Health Foundation. It was a fun, enjoyable, and relaxing event. Over 75 people attended and drank wine, chatted, and ate some cheese. The event was to be from 4pm to 7pm. People enjoyed it so much they stayed till around 11pm.
Friday night I meet Jeff at the Bridgewater campgrounds for a weekend of camping. He had already been to the beach to swim with 2 of my friends kids. My friend Juree has five children from the age of 9 to 3 months old. So there is never a dull moment when we camp with them. I went to bed shortly after getting to the campgrounds, we sold our camper so we were tenting it. We got use a tent that was given to us for our wedding.
On Saturday I woke up at 5:30AM (because Jeff got up to go mow at work) so I went home and showered (yes that is great advantage to camping only 15 miles from your home). I got back in time to help get the kids ready for the day. Shortly after lunch began the beach runs. Jeff and I took the four olders kids by ourselves. I came to a conclusion that I don't want more than 3 kids and I hope they are all girls. After getting after Jevin (5yrs old) for peeing on the beach in front of everyone, I thought I lost Joslyn (9 yrs old). I began to yell for her as I was hold Jazz (2 yrs old) in the water... she grabs around your neck because she still isn't sure of water... I find Joslyn and to her and mine shock Jazz had pulled down my swimsuit and I was hanging out. What a sight for those other beach goers! All in all it was a great time!
We left on Sunday morning because it was begining to rain. Jeff and I both laid around most of day after getting things put away!

Life Motto

I have been faced with several things lately that are either not fun to deal with or life changing. Last night I thought of something... life throws curve balls you can either ignore them and go on or you can realize them and deal with them in stride. So I that is my new motto in life. Hopefully I am taking curve balls in stride.

Wine Event This Week

We are having the first Wine Tasting for the Adair County Health Foundation. It is this Friday (August 7th) from 4pm to 7pm at Wine and Roses In Greenfield. Anyone is welcome, it is casual, and a come and go. Tickets are $20 if you purchase them before Friday and they are $25 Friday at the door. Let me know if you are interested in attending.

Well the month of July is finally over. It was a busy month for both Jeff and I. We had a lot of fun with RAGBRAI coming to Greenfield. We hosted around 30 people at our house. I also worked the First Aid stand for part of the day, that was a fun experience also.

Then we had the County Fair. The hospital has a booth that I am in charge of so I had to sit at the booth most of time. We did enjoy several evening events, the demo and the mud bogs. Jeff even rode in a mud bog with his hunting buddy Jack Zimmerline! Now he would like one.

Mom and I decided to have a garage sale in July also, it amazes me what people will buy!! It was a lot work but I got rid of a lot of stuff.

With Jeff working at the Golf Course and myself working full time at the hospital and part time at Support Services, I can't remember the last day this summer that we got to just hang out at our house.
